The OU Club of Atlanta established a Scholarship Program for the purpose of encouraging outstanding high school students from the Atlanta area to attend the University of Oklahoma. Continued and generous support by Atlanta area OU alumni and friends, enables the OU Club of Atlanta to increase the Scholarship Program funds each year. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Each year the OU Club of Atlanta awards partial Scholarships to deserving high school seniors and current OU students from the greater metro Atlanta area that are enrolled or bound for the University of Oklahoma. These partial Scholarships can range from $250 up to $2,500. Each year’s Scholarship award(s) consist of two parts: (1) the amount raised by the Club which will help the students pay for tuition, books, and other living expenses, and (2) this same amount will be matched by the University in the form of a tuition wavier. The Scholarship money will be automatically deposited into the student's bursar account and will be split between each semester. Although we strive to award as much as we can in Scholarships each year, the amount for Scholarships in both dollar amounts and total number of Scholarships awarded, is completely dependent and limited by the amount of donations we have raised each year from loyal OU supporters like you.
The Scholarship Committee for the Club awards these Scholarships based on academic performance, articulation of personal achievement that details the applicant’s goals, interests, hobbies, and future planning as well as honors, school activities, non-school activities, letters of recommendation and financial need. Scholarships are open to grade classifications from incoming Freshmen to Graduate Students.
